Enjoy peaceful sleep with the Contempo Series portable air conditioner. One of the quietest portable air conditioners in its class, the Contempo series noise level falls between 45 to 49 dbA (depending on the BTU and fan speed). What's more? The built-in Sleep Mode is a pre-set 10-hour program that increases the temperature at fixed intervals, so you can save energy when you are least active. Sleep Mode reduces the temperature gradually near the end of the cycle so you can start your day in a cool room again. Unlike a fixed air conditioner unit, the Honeywell portable air conditioner requires no permanent installation and the smooth-gliding caster wheels provide easy mobility from room to room. Built-to-last, the dual filtration system protects and extends the life of your air conditioner, while thermal overload protection on the compressor and motor, means extra safety precautions for added endurance and peace of mind for you.
I live on the top floor of an apartment building that gets brutally hot in the summer. We had a 12,000BTU window unit in our living room (400sqft) that was way too loud, took hours to cool, and could hardly keep it below 75 Decided it'd be worth the cost to test out this AC, and we're so happy with it. It's very quiet (especially compared to a window unit), very cold, and the fan is super strong. It has no problem cooling the place down and maintaining a comfortable temperature. 100% worth the cost. HOWEVER, the dimensions listed here, and even on the manufacturer site, are misleading: • The cord is pretty short, so if you don't have an outlet within 4 feet of a window, you're out of luck. • It claims that the final assembled dimensions are 15" deep. This does NOT include the depth that the exhaust hose adds, which makes the total depth closer to 24". See pic below • The window bracket claims to flex nearly 30" to fit any window. This doesn't account for the 8 or 9 inches where the hose plugs in and blocks you from anything less than 36" wide. I had to cut it myself, which was pretty sloppy since the plastic is flexible but strong. We had a very difficult time getting it to fit where we intended it to go based on the advertised dimensions...but once we found a place to put it, it's been working great.
